Ronnie Sharp – Chairperson

I have been involved in the network since its beginning, whilst working in the NHS Mental Health Services Greater Glasgow & Clyde.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing golf and lawn bowls. I also like to watch rugby union a game I played in my youth until my early 40’s. I have always had an interest in mental health and I am delighted to continue to provide support now I am retired from mainstream work.

I have been a member of the Mental Health Network for the past 10 years.

I really enjoy being part of the Network and am involved in the Monday Conversation Café, the Wednesday T-Talk Group and the Friday Focus Group. We discuss and feedback on various mental health policies produced by Greater Glasgow & Clyde Health Board.

Frank McGuigan - Trustee

FRANK MCGUIGAN – Trustee
I’m Frank Mc Guigan. I am a retired Practice Development Nurse (Mental Health). I joined the Mental Health Network as a Trustee in May 2023. It had been my ambition to join the Network when I retired and I was delighted when I was accepted.

To give some context, I worked closely with the Network in the years before retiring, participating in Conversations Sessions on the Leverndale campus. My role was to represent Hospital Management providing feedback on the sessions. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed these sessions and found them very rewarding.

Tracey Jenkins - Trustee

I joined the MHN Board in 2022, having worked with them as part of my role supporting Third Sector engagement on Suicide Prevention strategic planning. I have experience in mental health advocacy and nonprofit leadership and am committed to promoting awareness, support, and resources for mental health in our community. The role of this network is significant in how they including people with expertise in designing services at every stage of the journey. I feel privileged to be working closely with fellow trustees and team members to ensure the charity’s mission to Listen, Care, Respect and Empower is upheld in every initiative.

On my spare time I like to borrow a dog or two from friend’s and family and visit our beautiful Glasgow parks. I have been know to take a cold water dip every now and then too!

We are a community-driven network made up of individuals and carers with lived experience of mental health challenges. We understand how difficult it can be to navigate a mental health system that is often overstretched, with long waiting times and limited resources.

At times, finding the right support can feel overwhelming. That’s why we are here to connect you with compassionate, supportive organisations that can guide you through these challenges.
